As I pointed out with regard to the ruins of Machu Picchu, they (and so Machu Picchu Mountain) tend not to exist in isolation bur rarher are with a ridge that extends down from Salcantay. Given the character of Inca beliefs, it is not unlikely that the h2o that led by Machu Picchu was thoughr to take on part of the sacred character of Salcantay. d
